Our Hiking proposals in Sicily:

. Hiking to the Argimusco plateau and Malabotta wood.

It is one of the most fascinating excursions in Sicily, both for the nature that characterizes these places but also for the ancient history. The trek will be divided into two stages, the total kilometers traveled will be 12. We will start with a visit to the Argimusco plateau, a mystical place characterized by particular anthropomorphic and zoomorphic fortresses, modeled over the millennia by water and wind.

Here we will have the opportunity to enjoy a 360 degree panorama, which varies from Etna to the Aeolian Islands, and in addition we will be able to see closely the various testimonies that ascertain the presence of man in this place since prehistoric times. From Argimusco we will move by car about 2 km to start the trek to the Bosco di Malabotta.

A path alternating with some climbs will take us to the "Patriarchi", centuries-old oaks that create one of the most magical atmosphere of Sicily. As mentioned before, the trek is about 12 km long, there will be the possibility of making an alternative loop route extending the path for another 4 kilometers. Lunch will take place in an area equipped with local food.

. Excursion to the Maulazzo and Biviere Lakes, in the heart of the Nebrodi Mountains.

Another fascinating excursion to do in Sicily is certainly the one to the Maulazzo and Biviere lakes. Here we are in the heart of the Nebrodi mountains, a place where at a distance of about 5km from each other we find 2 lakes, confirming the fact that this mountain group is the richest in water in Sicily.

There will be the possibility to start with the excursion from two different points, or directly from Lake Maulazzo towards the Biviere thus covering 11 km, or starting from the beginning of the path by taking a 13.5 km walk.

In addition to the beauty of the two lakes and the various animal species present, we will be able to admire the beautiful beech forest of the place. Lunch will take place on the shores of Lake Biviere, with typical products.

. Hiking on the north side of Etna in Randazzo

We also propose an excursion to the north side of Etna, in Randazzo, along a path suitable for families, passionate hikers, nature and photography lovers. The itinerary will begin in the Pirao area, at the Forest refuge, where we will find ourselves immersed in the infinite and unique naturalistic heritage of Etna.

We will continue towards the west to get to walk along the lava flow of 1981, the scene of the famous Randazzo eruption that about 30 years ago risked destroying the historic Sicilian village. The next stage includes a visit to the Saletti refuge, an accommodation facility that is always open and well frequented by trekkers, cyclists and nature lovers where we will stop for a regenerating break, with tasting of Provola Dop dei Nebrodi and Salame di Suino nero dei Nebrodi.

Finally, as soon as we return to the starting point and complete the ring we will go to visit, one of the most interesting lava flow caves in the area, the Piano Cavoli caves.
