Open Sicily is a Cultural Association created in 2021, after several years spent exploring the Sicilian territory. Anxious to help save a heritage rich in local traditions, art, nature, wine and fine cuisine, our Association offers you the opportunity to experience them actively.
What could be more effective than participating personally in the making of local products, cultural events, outdoor excursions, historical reconstructions…?
Thanks to Open Sicily, you can live unforgettable experiences and share our life-long passion for our beloved Sicily. Together we shall meet the guardians of traditional lore, who have much to tell and teach us.
By actually helping to make a variety of local products, you will have the opportunity to participate in local craftsmanship.
By hiking with us on the beaten track, you will discover the wild Sicily of the interior.
By visiting offbeat, unusual places, you can escape the ‘Tourist Circuit’.
Through personal experiences, you will cease to be the Tourist in a Hurry who does no more than glance at the superficial appearance of things. Simply because you will have LIVED them !
Within the framework of our Association we create promotional videos and photo galleries, participate in trade fairs, folk festivals…
Income from the excursions proposed here, as well as donations, allow Open Sicily to help develop the Sicilian heritage: Join us and share in it!
